At least one Palestinian youth was injured on Saturday by Israeli army gunfire at the Balata refugee camp in the northern occupied West Bank.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said that its crew members dealt with "a live bullet injury to the shoulder of a 17-year-old boy during the Israeli army's storming of Balata camp in Nablus city."
The official Palestinian news agency Wafa reported that "occupation forces accompanied by a bulldozer stormed the Balata camp amid heavy gunfire and raided several homes."
Meanwhile, in the city of Jenin, witnesses told Anadolu that a strike was observed in the city, with shops closed, over the killing of Islam Khamaysa, an Al-Quds Brigades figure in an Israeli airstrike.
On Friday, the Palestinian Ministry of Health announced that Khamaysa was killed and nine others were injured in the Israeli missile attack on Jenin.
Tensions have been running high across the West Bank since Israel launched a deadly military offensive against the Gaza Strip after a cross-border attack by Hamas on Oct. 7, 2023.
At least 505 Palestinians have since been killed and around 5,000 others injured by Israeli army fire in the occupied territory, according to the Health Ministry.
Israel stands accused of genocide at the International Court of Justice which in January issued an interim ruling that ordered Tel Aviv to stop genocidal acts and take measures to guarantee that humanitarian assistance is provided to civilians in Gaza.
